Geriatric Orthopedic Society of India

#

Geriatric Orthopedic Problems have assumed great significance in the recent times due to the ever increasing geriatric population thanks to the increase in the life expectancy of people across the globe and India. Bulk of an orthopedic surgeons practice involves this population. The challenge in treating a geriatric patient is different due to the associated multiple co-morbidities, co-musculoskeletal conditions and psychosocial problems. Treating a geriatric patient demands special skills. I started GOSI in 2009 with an intention of creating a forum which focuses on training the orthopedic surgeons to gear up to the challenges of managing a geriatric orthopedic patient. Now it is 10 year old organisation with a member strength of over 1000 from all over the World.
